Jesus funeral services

Hi family and friends, I wanted to update you guys and let you know Jesus passed away yesterday November 5th, he was such a fighter and really tried his hardest to be here for the holidays. Im heartbroken as my niece really wanted to have one last birthday with her dad. I know he is no longer in pain and is in a better place. Please keep my sister and her kids and all of the Rios and Martinez family in your prayers.

At the beginning of last year, Jesus had been having symptoms of upset stomach and severe back pain in the lower abdomen region. Jesus then made an appointment to see his doctor. His physician ran all kinds of different test on him run which all came back to be normal.

Over the next few months the discomfort did not subside and actually become worse. As I work in a surgery setting where colonoscopies are done on a daily basis, I mentioned that he should have a colonoscopy done. Jesus then made another appointment with his physician beginning of June 2020, Which then his physician decided to refer Jesus to get a colonoscopy done. By the end of June 2020 he was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer.

On September 30th 2020 he had surgery in hopes to remove the tumor, but the surgeons were unsuccessful. They consulted with Jesus and decided he would need to get a stoma due to improper bowel movements.

At the end of November 2020 Jesus began chemo therapy. Right away chemo showed signs that it was working and his tumor was shrinking. Shortly after a few chemo sessions, he began to start having issues with his kidney. The doctors later discovered that his tumor was bigger then they had original thought and was growing into the direction of his kidney. This was not detected on the CT scans.

The tumor was applying pressure onto his kidney and his doctors feared he’d possibly have kidney failure. Per the doctor’s recommendation They made the decision to stop chemo therapy and to have a nephrostomy tube put in, in order to prevent fluid build up in the kidney.

Shortly after the nephrostomy tube was implanted he continued a different form of chemo therapy a more aggressive one, which required 2 hours of ivy chemo fluids and a pack that would pump chemo medication in him for 48 hours. He completed all his chemo treatments.

Still the tumor did shrink, his physicians the gave him a life span 2 yrs max. All 3 doctors told Jesus there was nothing left to do.

But Jesus being the fighter he is was insistent that he have surgery one last time. He wanted to make sure that he knew he did everything he could to be there for his kids and my sister.

So on June 30th 2021 he had his second surgery and this time doctors were successful. Jesus, my sister and their kids had their hope back and we’re finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. His physicians order was to wait 2 months for him to heal to start radiation.

Less a month after his procedure he went into get his CT scan, to prep for radiation they found that he had another tumor lower in his colon. The doctors then diagnosed him with stage 4 colon cancer. By now as you can image Jesus was exhausted and in a lot of pain and was constantly running a high fever.

His doctors decided to continue the plan with radiation in hopes that it would shrink the tumor and possibly relieve some of the pain.

As of September 13th Jesus was put on hospice. His doctors gave him anywhere from 6 months to a year left to live, and that the only possible way of being fully cured would all depend on a miracle. When Jesus got diagnosed with colon cancer he weighed around 240 pounds and now he weighs 124 pounds

Jesus has always been the man of the house and has always cared and provided for his family, my sister and their 3 kids. My sister and Jesus also help with raising their niece and nephew who live with them. My sister left her job to take care of Jesus full time.

May who know my sister, know that she is a very prideful person, but is also very selfless she would give the shirt off of her back. I simply ask if you can help donate any amount to help both Jesus and my sister out with any medical bills and financial burden. If you can not donate I simply ask you to please keep my brother in law in your prayers!
