Update 2/22/2023: hello as of
Today Jesús has finished 17 days of radiation and finishes radiation on 2/24. He has already done two rounds of immunotherapy with the rest of the year left. His immunotherapy is once every 3 weeks. The first week he was very fatigued and had nausea. The second time it was done along side radiation and that was very scary. His blood pressure skyrocketed and he was taken off work as he could not drive, had double vision and couldn’t not stabilize his blood pressure. He is much better now but the side effects of radiation can happen 30 days out so we are still taking precautions.
Please continue to pray for him. That the treatments are effective and his healing is complete. That his physical health is also good and mental health as well. Thank you everyone for your support throughout this journey.
On 11/22/2022 Jesus was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. It’s been a crazy few weeks of tests and appointments. We officially have a surgery date for 12/21/2022 and as of right now only Immunotherapy will be the treatment route. After surgery they will do another pathology report to finalize treatment. As of now we are battling Stage 3 metastasis melanoma in one lymph node and we pray that the post surgery report does not indicate the the cancer has spread.
I’ve had so many reach out and ask about how they can help us or if we have a link for donations and so many that have encouraged us to make this page. We don’t know the cost of treatment yet. We will know this in January.
What we do know is surgery will cost at least $2500 with insurance and we are already well over that amount with all the testing that has already been done to this point. We know the costs will increase when adding the post op care that will take place over the next year.
The funds will be used for treatment costs and other expenses as they come up.
I’ve had a few people give gift cards and some who have said they can bring a meal. All that helps tremendously!
Please don’t feel obligated to donate. It’s a busy season so we understand.
I am just so humbled that so many have asked how they can help and that they want to help. We truly appreciate it all! You’ve all been such a huge blessing and your prayers are appreciated!
