Native Youth Gathering.

The first ever native american youth gathering will take place on July 9th, 2015 in Washington D.C.  This gathering will engage hundreds of native youth in a historic conference to engage in a dialogue about their perspective on issues that affect them and ideas for action. Youth will meet and learn from their peers across the country. They will have a chance to have their voices heard about ideas to improve the lives of native youth. My name is Jessi and I'm 17 years old.  I have worked very hard on being able to go to the native youth gathering. I have received a letter saying I have been excepted. I am very excited and honored to go but without your donations I will not be able to.  I want to go because I want to speak up for my community the Bois Forte Reservation.  I am currently employed with the Boys and Girls club in my community. I do programs with the kids. The main program is boot camp.  Boot camp is more of a workout then a game.  It shows that working out doesn't have to be boring it can be fun to.  A lot of the kids like boot camp.  I want to go to the native youth gathering to represent all of these hard working kids.  I want to get the community more involved to show them what these kids can do. This is something that I really want to do and very important to me.  It would mean so much if I was able to go.  My goal deadline is June 15, 2015, to guarantee my spot at the youth gathering.
