Jessie’s Kicking Cancer Fund

For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Jessie. I’m a 34 year old OR nurse. I have spent my life caring for others and now I’ve come to a point in my life where I need to let others care for me.

On August 8th I went to the ER with severe stomach pain. The doctors thought it was my gallbladder but instead they found multiple tumors in my colon, liver, and lymph nodes. It was the shock of my life when I was told I have stage 4 colon cancer. I’m a healthy person, a borderline hypochondriac. I’ve gotten every lump and bump checked out, how could this happen without any indication?!

My partner Zack and I had our life planned out, we were both almost to the point where we could finally relax and start the fun part of our lives because he was one year away from graduation. We were excited to get married, start a family, buy a house - and now many of our dreams are on hold while I undergo treatment. My career that I love is on pause, and I am the patient now. It’s been a humbling experience to say the least, but we are fighting it with all we’ve got!! One good thing from this terrible diagnosis is that our love has grown so much deeper, and we got married on 9/14/23 in a small intimate ceremony with our closest family and friends.

Zack and I are both proud, self-sufficient people, but I know the time will come where we will need help from others. With him in school full time and working, to me being on disability with medical bills starting to pile up, finances are starting to get tight. Any donation is appreciated and will go towards helping us stay on our feet through this scary and uncertain time. We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts if you are able to make a donation. If you know me, you know I’m an eternally positive person, and you bet your butt I’m staying positive through all of this! I will keep you all updated as my treatment progresses.

Don’t skip your colonoscopy!! I had ZERO symptoms up until 8/7 and my only symptom was pain. Regular CRC screenings don’t start until age 45. If colonoscopies were started at 30 a lot of people in my situation would find out a lot sooner.

Thank you and gratitude & blessings to all.
