On March 8th, I took my sweet baby girl in to the vet for her monthly grooming. They give her a bath, trim her nails, clean her ears, brush her teeth, and express her anal glands( a gross but super necessary thing for pups). Typically I would drop her off and go do errands for a few hrs, picking her up once they call and tell me shes all dry and ready to come home.
A vet assistant called me ealier than I anticipated and told me that they thought her anal gland was impacted, and they would have to sedate her to lance and drain it. It killed me to think she was in pain, so I OK-ed the procedure.
Another call from them shattered my whole world.
A tumor.

What they thought was an impacted anal gland, when lanced, did not drain. It was hard tissue. A tumor has developed on her anal gland.
Adenocarcinoma.
They removed what they could, sending a sample to be biopsied. Her vet explained that she would need Xrays, future surgery, and potentially chemotherapy, depending on results of the biopsy.
Yesterdays vet visit alone was almost $1000
Anyone who has ever talked to me, think of how long it was before I made the conversation about how amazing my Jessie is.

How she is my entire world
How much joy she has brought me..
and my entire family

I'm coming to you, my friends, completely shattered. My whole world is laying on the couch next to me with a cone on, loopy from pain medication. We will know what her prognosis/future is better when the biopsy results come in, but her vet has warned me the long odds against her.

I am not a wealthy person. My richness in life comes soley from the joy she gives me. From the most humble and tender part of me, I'm asking for help.
Her current and future vet bills, regardless of prognosis, are not a burden I am currently able to bare alone.
The figure listed in the goal is to cover currently planned procedures, medication, and boarding costs. This could concievably go up or down, depending on the news we get from the lab and Xrays.
I am making arrangements with a local dog rescue (and an amazing one in Pennsylvania Biggies Bullies ) to donate 100% of any funds collected left over, in Jessie's name, after the costs of her care.
Thank you all for your amazing love and support. You mean so much to my pup and I.
