Jessie & Maisie need some help!

Hi, my name is Tarryn, and I'm fundraising for my friend Jessie Townsend. I first met Jessie as a parent at the local community kindergarten where I work, when Jessie and her daughter Maisie came to us for support. Jessie had recently experienced a medical emergency, requiring her to be airlifted to The Alfred Hospital from regional Victoria. As a result, she was left with vision impairment and needed a stent placed in her brain.

As a single mum without family support, Jessie, who was already facing challenges, now had to adapt to caring for her young daughter while navigating life with no vision. This change made finding work nearly impossible, adding financial stress to an already difficult situation.

Despite these obstacles, Jessie has shown incredible resilience over the past few years. She has worked tirelessly to adapt to her new reality and create a loving, supportive home for Maisie.

However, times are tough for Jessie and Maisie and currently most of Jessie's income covers private rental as they wait for public housing. Leaving just a small amount left over for food. Beyond this Maisie does not have access to most things children in our community take for granted such as swimming lessons, special gifts for birthdays and Christmas etc.

I'm reaching out to ask for your help to make this Christmas a special one for Jessie and Maisie. I would love to be able to raise enough funds to ensure that Maisie could undertake swimming lessons in 2025, and maybe a bit extra for some gifts for both Maisie and Jessie.
