1/4/24 CaringBridge update from Jessie:
Just a quick update: I had the liver biopsy on Friday last week and it went very well. I saw my oncologist today to get my results and start treatment. Based on the results of the biopsy, my treatment will consist of a monthly injection (shot) and a daily pill. I got the first shot today and will start the pills once they are delivered to my house. Thank you for all the well wishes, prayers, and donations to the go fund me to see a functional medicine doctor for more holistic treatment along with the traditional medical treatment.
Hi, I’m Heather Bjorneberg and setting up this account on behalf oh my sister, Jessie Hill.
You may remember that Jessie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021. She went through treatment and was cancer free.
She began experiencing symptoms again, had a biopsy, and learned the breast cancer is back. This time it has spread to her liver and she was diagnosed with stage four metastatic breast cancer.
Jessie is a fighter and she wants to use all the arsenal she can to beat this nasty disease. In order to do so, she will incur significant out-of-pocket expenses. I’m setting up this GoFundMe account to help offset those bills.
If would like to donate, it would be greatly and humbly appreciated. Every little bit helps.
Here’s Jessie’s most recent update from her CaringBridge page on December 18th: I saw my oncologist today and unfortunately the PET scan shows the breast cancer has metastasized to my liver. So now it’s stage 4 and not curable, but treatable. I will have a biopsy of my liver end of next week to determine the course of treatment that will be most beneficial. I’ll either have 12 weeks of chemo or a monthly injection paired with a pill everyday. If the liver lesions respond well to treatment, a liver resection (removing most of my liver) may be an option. Cool thing is, your liver grows back! Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers, hoping to kick its ass again.
