As some of you may or may not know, Jess was in a serious ATV accident 10 days ago, the weekend of her birthday, which separated her knee, femur, and lower leg, severed veins, and all the tendons in her knee. Her loved ones stepped in and provided proper medical treatment which included a tourniquet (or 3) and was then life-flighted to the trauma center in Eugene where Jess was blessed that an experienced vascular surgeon specialist had just arrived to check on another patient and he was able to take her right into surgery. He had never seen such an injury before, and he gave her an 8% chance of keeping her leg. She needed multiple blood transfusions to save her life. After surgery, she was given a 65% chance of regaining most functions in her leg. She spent 4 days in ICU and then the ortho department before coming home where she is being loved and cared for by her family. Multiple out-of-state and local surgeries will be required to close the wounds in her leg and rebuild her leg and her knee. There are many in and out-of-network medical costs, not including travel costs back and forth to Eugene. She continues to beat all the odds, and she will continue to show them how truly remarkable she really is and defy all odds on her path to a full recovery, but in the meantime, Jessica and the family will need financial support on top of all the prayers and uplifting messages. Her family has been graced with so many kind words, prayers, happy messages, yummy food, and support. We all know that Jess would not ask for help, but people have reached out asking how they can help. The prayers, uplifting messages, and support are very much appreciated and needed too. She is unable to physically run her small family-owned business and is relying heavily on her amazing employees to keep things going. She will have to hire additional help as she is unable to walk without assistance or drive while she is recovering from current wounds and multiple surgeries and wound care in both Oregon and Washington for the next 3-5 months. As you all know, Jess does so very much for her friends, family, and the community, there are countless people who love and admire her and not just because she is so giving, but because she has one of the biggest hearts around. She is not one to ask for help and is always willing to help wherever she can, so let’s rally and support her in this journey so she can get back to wearing us all out just watching her.
