Hi my name is Jessica. I am a part of the west Mercia scout group as an explorer. I have been apart of West Mercia since the age of 6 when I joined in beavers. Over these 9 years I have got my bronze, silver and gold award, and was the first girl to get the 'sportsman of the year' award. In 2025 I applied for the jamboree with an application. this opportunity was given to around 400 scouts and explorers. while not all of them applied I was still part of the 70 that got through to the selection weekend and became part of the 36 that got into unit 65. This is a unique opportunity to meet scouts from all over the world and experience new cultures. Part of this experience means I have to fund raise money. I will be doing this through bake sales, badge sewing, car boots sales and more. I have to fund raise £2,700. This money will go toward travel, stay, food and unit activity.
