Jessica's Homeland Journey

Hi community,

I want to share that after 12 years, I have the opportunity to return home! A couple of months ago, I was able to apply for Advance Parole through a work opportunity. I had not heard back about an approval so I assumed it might not come through. However, I received news on Wednesday May 10th, exactly 9 days before my departure, that my Advance Parole application was accepted. I received my permit on Friday May 12th and I am currently set to leave on Friday May 19th. I am completely overcome with emotions about reuniting with my family. However, this opportunity does come with some financial barriers since I have to cover all flight expenses. I will be traveling from Los Angeles to my hometown of Nayarit. Since this opportunity is work related, I also have to travel from Nayarit to Ciudad de Mexico and then back from Ciudad de Mexico to Nayarit, finally traveling once again from Nayarit to Los Angeles. I hope to raise $2,000 for all 4 flight expenses. Please donate as much as your capacity allows, I am eternally grateful to even be sharing out loud with you that I will be returning home.
