My name is Jessica, and I am a proud mother of three, working full time while completing my college education. My journey to this moment has not been easy, but it has been incredibly meaningful.
I began my college journey at 18, but at 19 I became a mother, which put my education on hold as I focused on caring for my child. At 24, I made the decision to return to school and pursue my bachelor’s degree—taking just one class at a time so I could avoid excessive student loans and pay for tuition out of pocket whenever possible.
Now at 30 years old, after six years of balancing full-time work, motherhood, and providing for my household, I am finally completing what is traditionally a four-year degree. This accomplishment represents perseverance, sacrifice, and unwavering determination.
I am asking for support to help fund travel for myself and my children to Baltimore, MD, where I will be graduating in June 2026. It is incredibly important to me that my children—especially my daughters—are there to witness this moment. I want them to see firsthand that no matter how long the road or how many obstacles arise, they can achieve anything they set their minds to through hard work and dedication.
As a first-generation college graduate, walking across that stage with my children cheering me on would be a full-circle moment and a powerful example for them to carry into their own lives. I am deeply grateful for any support, shares, or encouragement, and for everyone who has helped me along this journey.
Thank you for being part of my story.
