A few weeks ago, after multiple trips to the ER with stomach pain, our family was devastated with the news that my older sister Jessica has colon cancer. On February 26th, Jessica underwent a robotic right hemicolectomy to remove a portion of her colon where the mass was found and we are awaiting next steps for her treatment journey.     

Jessica is a single mother after a recent divorce and has been negatively impacted by COVID in her medical practice while trying to juggle child care for her 4 year old son who was not able to attend day care due to a history of respiratory illness.  

Jessica will not be able to work during her healing period and the future impact is still unknown.  Her medical bills are expected to be upwards of $10,000 and she will need additional funds to replace her lost income and child care expenses during this time.     

We do not want Jessica's current medical situation to be compounded by financial struggles and uncertainty and hope this fundraising effort will soften this period for her.     Our family will be grateful and appreciative of any help we can receive for Jessica.
