Jessica’s Cleveland Clinic Journey

Jessica was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at the age of 5 years old. She was later diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, along with arthritis related to the Crohn’s. Since then she has undergone extensive treatments and surgeries to try to manage and repair the damage to her body that was done by this disease. Even with the multiple surgeries and medications, unfortunately her disease has just gotten worse. 

 At this point, her gastroenterologist says she needs to have another surgery. She was referred to the Colorectal Surgeon at the U of M.  She learned the surgery she needs is so advanced that it is not performed at their facility. She was referred to the Cleveland Clinic due to their ability to help her with this surgery. 

Jessica does not have the financial resources to pay the travel costs, let alone the cost of missing work to have the consultation, surgery, and long recovery period.   Jessica would greatly appreciate any help with covering these costs. All donations will be used to offset travel and lost wages.
