Jessica Halley is a young mom of three kids battling breast cancer for the second time. Her first battle began in 2018 when a small marble sized lump was discovered in her breast. With aggressive treatment and support from her loved ones, she kicked the cancer's butt with grace and strength. In late 2021, Jessica went to the ER for what she believed was a broken rib, only to discover her cancer had not only returned but had also metastasized to her bones.
Since discovering the return of the cancer, Jessica has undergone multiple major surgeries at UCSF in California on both her C-spine and T-spine. These surgeries included the removal of some vertebrae due to tumor growth or due to bone breakages caused by the tumors. There have been cages placed in the spine and fusing of some vertebrae to stabilize the spine in addition to many other surgeries and procedures during Jessica's fight against cancer. Each one takes a toll and keeps her away from her loved ones, but most importantly her children.
In early 2023, Jessica discovered the chemotherapy medication that had been successfully preventing further tumor growth for about 10 months, had stopped working as intended and there had been aggressive growth. She underwent radiation immediately which provided a small reduction in tumor growth with hope they would have delayed additional shrinking. Unfortunately, there has been additional progress in 2024 and Jess is now on an intensive chemo therapy and radiation schedule causing hair loss once again among other side effects.
Jessica, her loved ones, and members of the community are working hard to give her all the mental, physical, emotional, financial and naturopathic support they can offer. Vitamins, supplements, infrared sauna sessions, nutritional guidance, spiritual support, and so much love are just a few of the many tools being used to give Jess the best chances at life. Through all of this, Jessica has remained a constant light in the world.
In true Jessica Halley fashion, she is still putting everyone above herself or offering to help with anything she can to make life easier for those around her. She remains joyful, kind, loving, and stronger than anyone could imagine. She is a true super hero and the Wonder Woman in our lives. We love you, Jess!
