My wife Jessica is a loving and strong person. She is 36 years young. She takes care of me and our two children, always putting her God and her family before herself. She was a wonderful and selfless caregiver when I had cancer 8 years ago even though she had just given birth to our daughter and was homeschooling our autistic son as well. She still homeschools both our children Cali who is 8, and Zack who is 17, in an online academy during her cancer treatment as well and they both are honor role students. Before she was diagnosed she took them exploring, hiking, fossil digging and did many hands on activities with them to encourage the joy of learning. She cooked every meal from scratch and planned menus to keep us on budget and healthy. She volunteers in the community and has supported our children volunteering as well. She is the core of our family and we couldn't survive without her.
Jessica has been struggling with pain in her right breast for over four years, she went to doctors and had mammograms only for them to tell her not to worry she's too young to have breast cancer and it's just harmless cysts. After moving to Colorado she told her new primary care physician her situation and got a new mammogram and ultrasound only to be told immediately after that she had severe breast cancer. Within 10 days she saw an oncologist, breast surgeon, had bloodwork, PET scans, MRI's, Echocardiogram, and surgery to put in a port and remove a large lump that was begining to enter her chest wall and infect her lungs, and they also removed a large tumor on her lymph node that was tangled in her nerves causing severe pain. They diagnosed her with Triple Positive Inflamotory Breast Cancer stage 3c. She started chemotherapy shortly after surgery and has done 6 cycles of the stronger chemo and will have to do her2 chemo for atleast another 7 months along with 6 weeks of radiation.

On March 3, 2016 she is having a mastectomy and will eventually have to have a total hysterectomy as well. We have insurance, but the copays are adding up and we are struggling to get by. We still owe about $4000 in copays from last year after already paying close to $9000 in deductibles and copays for treatment, surgery and meds. This year we have already racked up about $3000+ and expect the surgery copay to be about $3000 and the radiation copay to be about $2500. We can pay some, especially after we move back to Texas in May were the cost of living is cheaper but we still need to catch up on copays and be able to save to move. We are asking for help because it has become too difficult to keep up and we are falling behind with our regular household bills to the point of concern. Anything helps and we are very appreciative and thankful.

Our Kids Hiking in the Garden of the Gods.

Cali at the Zoo with Wallaby, she also volunteers here and helps prepare the food for the small animals and take care of the smaller reptiles by feeding them crickets and misting them.

Zack volunteering at Helen Hunt Falls Visitor Center, he helped repair trails, direct hikes, and ran the geological table.

Jessica Fighting Cancer, after first treatment.

Zack helping excavate a dinosaur skull with Dr. Robert Bakker at Morrison Dino Museum. They even let Cali do it a little!

Cali at Morrison Dino Museum by one of her favorite dinosaurs.

Me and the kids at the Zoo, Jessica isn't in a lot of pictures, she is always the one taking them!
