Jessica & Zach's Journey: Fighting Cancer & Preserving Hope

Donation protected
On August 31, 2024, Jessica and Zach were married, ready to begin the next chapter of their lives. This was supposed to be the happiest time for them—starting a family and building a life together. But just six weeks after their wedding, they received devastating news: Jessica was diagnosed with triple negative, grade 3, stage 2B invasive ductal carcinoma, an aggressive form of breast cancer.

What was meant to be a time of joy and new beginnings has suddenly turned into a battle for Jessica’s health and their future together. Instead of planning for a family, Jessica and Zach are now facing months of intense treatment and overwhelming medical expenses, many of which will not be covered by insurance.

One of the most heartbreaking aspects of this diagnosis is that chemotherapy—while necessary to fight the cancer—can also severely impact Jessica’s fertility. The aggressive treatment could harm her ability to have children in the future, putting their dream of starting a family in jeopardy. Before chemotherapy begins, Jessica and Zach are working urgently to preserve her eggs, so they still have the chance to build the family they had envisioned. Fertility preservation adds another layer of emotional and financial stress to an already overwhelming situation.

The first step in Jessica’s treatment will be surgery to implant a chemo port, which will make the administration of chemotherapy easier and more manageable. Shortly after that, Jessica will begin 24 weeks of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, starting in early November. This will be a long and challenging process as her body endures aggressive treatments aimed at shrinking the tumors and stopping the cancer from spreading.

Once the chemotherapy is complete, Jessica will undergo additional surgeries. Her doctors have recommended a double mastectomy to significantly reduce the risk of the cancer returning. This will be followed by reconstructive surgery to help her heal both physically and emotionally. The entire process—from chemotherapy to surgery and recovery—will span many months, and Jessica will be out of work for an extended and unforeseen amount of time.

The financial burden of medical bills, fertility preservation, and everyday living expenses is overwhelming. We are reaching out for your support to help Jessica and Zach focus on what truly matters—Jessica’s health and recovery—without the crushing weight of financial worry. Your generosity will go toward medical treatments, fertility preservation, surgeries, and supporting them through this incredibly difficult time.

If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing their story to help spread the word. Any support, whether through donations, prayers, or simply sharing this page, means the world to them.

Jessica and Zach are facing a challenge they never expected so early in their marriage, but with your help, they can face this fight with strength, hope, and love.

Thank you for standing with them during this heartbreaking time.

With gratitude,
Family of Zach and Jessica
