January 24, 2022 is a date that will never be forgotten. On this evening in Adams, Nebraska, my best friend, Jessica Sharp, was the victim of a domestic violence attack. Her husband and father of her children, Tom, beat and shot Jessica in the right hand. Why did this happen? We still have many questions. Our best guess, Tom suffered a severe mental health episode and became a man we did not know. This tragedy resulted in a shattered right hand, severe trauma, a broken family, and a dead husband and father who took his own life.

To those of you who have walked with Jessica and the Sharp family through this awful event, thank you. Your support has meant the world. To anyone new, thank you as well.

Life since January has been rocky, to say the least. Jessica has had a few surgeries, gone through physical rehab, and regular therapy. She has minimal use of her thumb and pointer fingers, and no feeling in those fingers as well. The boys? They have gone through their own struggles but are thriving and have started their 2022 school years.

Why are we updating this fundraiser again? We need your help.

Jessica has a major surgery coming up in a few weeks. Doctors have done months of research and testing to come up with a plan that would hopefully allow much better function of Jessica’s right hand. The doctors will be completing a nerve repair, a tendon transplant, a skin graft, and will remove shattered bone.

She has a total of $1500 that is due October 6th in order for her surgery to continue as planned. Jessica will not be able to work during this time either and can use all the support you can give.
