Jessica River’s Memorial Fund
Donation protected
This fund is set up for the cremation, memorial service, and urn of Jessica Rivers, who passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019. I am setting up this fund to help her family after her unexpected death.
Jessica grew up in Jonesville, Virginia with her twin sister Kayla, her mother and father Sharon and Jeffery, and her grandmother, Edna.
She went to J. Frank White Academy high school, where she met her lifelong friends, Christina and I.
When she graduated Jessica went to Radford University where she pursued a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She furthered her education at Wake Forrest University, where she got a Master’s degree in Psychology with honors.
Jessica was kind, intelligent, hard working, and had a wicked sense of humor that only people close to her got to enjoy. She had a great love for music and art, and was always going to concerts, learning to play the guitar, and sketching. A driving force of Jessica’s was her desire to help people, and her fundamental belief that people are good. She had an innocence about her that usually gets extinguished as a child, but somehow that managed to shine through in everything she did.
Jessica also did volunteer work with a suicide hotline, worked on research involving people dealing with PTSD, and wanted to devote her life to helping others. Jessica was a scholar, a friend, a sister, and a daughter who was loved by everyone who was lucky enough to know her.
There is no way I can begin to describe the loss that Jessica’s passing brings, but I know I’m not alone in feeling that way. She has so many people that loved her and saw what a special individual she was.
