My daughter and all of her best friends are guided daily by a loving and most amazing teacher. Miss Jess means so much to me and my husband because she possesses all the qualities that a parent would want their child to be around; trustworthy, gentle, kind and giving. That’s why Ellie loves her so much, as do the rest of her classmates.
I’m writing to all of you on behalf of Miss Jess. She previously had a kidney transplant at the age of 16. As a result, she currently has one functional kidney. Unfortunately, that kidney is giving her problems. Last week she became very sick, she was vomiting and having severe stomach pains and ended up in the emergency room. She was unable to eat, and when she did she could not digest her food. After her initial examination and treatment, the physicians decided that a transfer to Montefiore hospital would be advisable because there is a kidney specialist on staff that could better assess the situation.
As of now, medical staff is evaluating her condition to determine why her kidney is under functioning. They ran blood work yesterday and as soon as she knows the results she will send along her status. The doctor is saying that if there isn't improvement they will have to do a biopsy on the kidney to get a definitive prognosis. Most recently an X-Ray was conducted because of an iron deficiency in her blood. Depending on the outcome, a blood transfusion could be required to stabilize her. There is no time frame of when she will be able to return to the LEO academy.
During her day, she reads, she leads, and gives so much TLC to our babies. It’s time to give it back.
Any help you can provide would not only be appreciated by both the kids and their parents, it would allow her to live the beautiful life she deserves. Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting her knows she deserves that. She is beautiful inside and out, she cares for our children and legitimately makes our lives better. So please think of her, your children and their caretakers. Any donation large or small would be appreciated.
xoxo
