Donation protected

I am sooo EXCITED to announce I have just been accepted in the less than 3% of exceptional women applicants worldwide to take part in a 2-year sailing mission to fight the plastic problem in the ocean!!!
Out of thousands of submissions, I am a proud accepted member of this diverse ALL-FEMALE crew of 300 women PhD scientists, filmmakers, artists, teachers, doctors, sustainability experts who are brought together to sail around the world for 2 years helping reduce and solve the plastic problem.
I am going on the Panama to Galapagos leg on the 28th January to the 8th February!
For their last expedition in the North Pacific, there was an incredible 430+ pieces of media coverage from Europe, America and Asia within everything from The New York Times, Time Magazine, The Robb Report, BBC, ITV, The Guardian, and Conde Nast Traveller to name a few.

On October 7th 2019, a pioneering all-female 2-year sailing voyage and scientific research mission will set sail to circumnavigate the globe via four ocean Gyres and the Arctic. The aim of eXXpedition Round the World is to tackle the devastating environmental and health impacts of single-use plastic and toxics in the world’s oceans.
The start of this year, I’ve felt restless and like my life had no greater purpose. Being a sole female business owner, I felt like I haven’t achieved anything that would truly change things for our future.
I am therefore asking all of you to please help support my ocean cleanup mission and donate here:

* Every day approximately 8 million pieces of plastic pollution find their way into our oceans
* Annually approximately 500 billion plastic bags are used worldwide. More than one million bags are used every minute.
* 100,000 marine mammals and turtles and 1 million sea birds are killed by marine plastic pollution annually.
* Recent studies have revealed marine plastic pollution in 100% of marine turtles, 59% of whales, 36% of seals and 40% of seabird species examined.
* Billions of pounds of plastic can be found in swirling convergences in the oceans making up about 40 percent of the world's ocean surfaces. 80 percent of pollution enters the ocean from the land.
* The Great Pacific Garbage Patch is located in the North Pacific Gyre off the coast of California and is the largest ocean garbage site in the world. This floating mass of plastic is twice the size of Texas, with plastic pieces outnumbering sea life six to one.
* Plastic constitutes approximately 90 percent of all trash floating on the ocean's surface, with 46,000 pieces of plastic per square mile.
* The average person eats 70,000 microplastics each year.
If you are passionate about any of the issues above and want to save our oceans, please help me raise money for this indisputable cause.
How is the money raised being spent?
Every woman is requested to contribute to each leg of the journey.
