Jessica Nash - Fighting Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer
Donation protected
Two weeks after going to the doctor for a kidney stone, Jessica Nash was faced with some devastating news. The doctors found a mass on her Pancreas, as well they noticed masses on her Liver, her Ovaries and in her Lungs. Immediately a biopsy was completed, and Jess was promptly diagnosed with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. Now, within three weeks of her first visit to the doctor, she is facing one of the most intense treatments offered to try and spare her some remaining time. Jess has been given 6 months to one year to live if she does not receive treatment. With treatment, the doctors are giving her up to two years. As for our family, we are praying for a miracle...
Jessica has been forced to give up her love for Child Care. The doctors told her she simply cannot expose herself to illnesses, as she does in a profession she's loved for over 20 years, her immune system will simply be too weak once she starts treatments. Away with her job, goes her health insurance. They have been taking the steps necessary to apply for any program available to them, but things like that never move as fast as they need to. Both Neil and Jess have shown strength I've never seen before, all while trying to grasp at what's left of life as they knew it. They want nothing more than to hold on to the time they have left, and enjoy it, with their three boys and the rest of their extended family and friends.
Neil is working when he isn't taking Jess to appointments, but he is determined to be by his wife's side as she endures the difficult treatments. For those of you who know Neil and Jess, you know they are the first to help, and the last to ask for help. At this point, they are left with no choice but to ask for help. Facing a diagnosis that is terminal, I am just hoping to offer a little reprieve from the burdens that come along side such a diagnosis.
Please don't ever feel obligated, and know that even just your thoughts and prayers are enough for this family. Jess and Neil are forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support.
