Dear family and friends, many of you have asked how you can help so I’ve created this go fund me account on behalf of my sister Sonia and brother in-law Raul. A little over two weeks ago my niece Jessica was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive Cervical Cancer.

Jessica is a 16-year junior at Inderkum High School. She prides herself in maintaining good grades while working a part time job and playing high school sports. She was just getting started with her softball season before her diagnosis.

Jessica has held her first job for over a year and was excited to have purchased her first car just a few months ago, but due to her illness has had to take a leave of absence from work.

As a toddler, Jessica was faced with a life-threatening illness that had her hospitalized for over two months. Jessica is with us today because she is a fighter, she is strong and has a big family that cares, loves and supports her, along with the amazing nurses and doctors at UC Davis. Now, 15 years later Jessica is facing another life-threatening Illness and needs as much family support as ever.

As you can imagine this news has been devastating to my niece, her parents, siblings, and our family. We are all trying to process, cope and understand how and why as she is so young.

Since her diagnosis, Jessica has had many medical appointments. Some of which are with specialists not covered by health insurance. She will soon start treatment that will require my sisters full attention, which may require her to take an extended leave of absence from work.

This has taken such an emotional and physical toll on my sister and brother in-law, so my family and I have stepped up to help out with cooking meals, running errands, and attending medical appointments to offer support.

This page has been created to help alleviate some of the financial stress and help cover any unexpected medical cost for my sister and brother in-law during this difficult time.
