Today should not be a normal day. Time should not continue without pause to recognize a mother's grief at the loss of her daughter, just days away from her 25th birthday. On August 4, 2018 Jessica Lynn Crabtree passed away unexpectedly, leaving her family numb, confused and filled with unanswerable questions of why this happened. It's a loss that no mother should ever have to bear, but sometimes they must. No one said Life was fair.
Today I held my dear friend's hand as she made the hardest decisions of her life. Those decisions unfortunately came at a high cost both emotionally and financially. Though the outcome cannot be changed, I want to give her a chance to breath during this time when all breath is stolen from those left behind by the loss of a child.
No amount of money will fix what is broken but it will help them meet their financial obligations as they take the time needed to heal the un-healable.
