Just over a week ago, Jessica was experiencing excruciating headaches.   Finally, after she couldn’t tolerate the pain any longer, she went to the emergency room and was immediately admitted into West Allis hospital.   After numerous tests, the doctors discovered a tumor on her pituitary gland, and she was transferred by ambulance to St. Luke’s for surgery.  On Monday morning, her neurosurgeon removed a one inch tumor that was causing pressure on her pituitary and preventing her from opening her left eye.  Jessica is currently in the ICU recovering from surgery.   While she’s expected to make a full recovery, the journey will be a long one. 

Jessica’s family hasn’t been able to be there with her since she first went to the ER or during any part of her recovery because of COVID-19.  If you’ve had the pleasure of knowing Jessica’s husband, Luiz, you know what a positive person he is.  When asked how he and the kids were doing, he said, “Well, Jessica is making great progress, we have food in the refrigerator……. AND we have toilet paper so, we’re pretty fortunate.”

As all of you know, the costs of surgery and a stay in the ICU can be crippling.  We need your help paying those bills.
