Hello! We are starting this fundraiser to help our sister, Jessica, and her 13 year old son, Hunter. With just 2 weeks before Christmas, Jessica unexpectedly lost her job.
Jessica is a healthcare warrior; she has been a practicing physician assistant for 18 years. She is a hero to us all and to the communities she has served. COVID presented significant challenges for healthcare workers, Jessica included. As an emergency medicine/urgent care PA, she worked tirelessly to care for high volumes of sick patients; never wavering in her determination to render care that met her high standards with compassion and empathy. If any of you are in healthcare, you know that this is not an easy profession, especially not when you have a family. The long hours, having to find child care, and the constant sacrifice is exhausting.
Jessica is not only dedicated to serving the community, above all else, she is dedicated to being a good mom. It is difficult to be as involved as she would like with Hunter’s activities, such as his passion for baseball, when frequently her work obligations take her away. But she always tries her best to be there as much as she can. Further growing this demand, our sister and her son were struck with a terrible tragedy this summer as Hunter’s father suddenly passed away. It has been a devastating loss not only emotionally, but also the loss of a second parent increased the financial burden on Jessica and made trying to navigate work, family, and financial responsibilities that much more difficult.
The knocks have been hard, but Jessica is one of the strongest, most resilient women we know. Now, as her family and friends, it is our opportunity to be her heroes and get them through the next few months- as it can take 2-3 months for Jessica to be credentialed and ready to practice in a new job. All the money she receives will go towards her daily living expenses, a roof repair, and bills so that Jessica can keep her head above water until she can find a steady foothold. Anything you can contribute would be so appreciated. If you are not in a position to donate, please share this fundraiser with your friends and family.
We are grateful for your support and kindness this holiday season as we rally around Jessica and Hunter to see them through this difficult patch.
With love,
Jennifer, Jordan, Stephanie, and Christopher.
