WIN a day fly fishing!

Hello I’m Jesse I live locally in Olveston and I’m a year 10 student at the Castle School Thornbury.

I have recently qualified for the England Youth fly fishing team and I’m really looking forward to representing my country in Scotland at the end of July.

I mostly fly fish for trout at Chew and Blagdon reservoirs and have learnt my skills from watching you tube videos, entering competitions and befriending lots of helpful people.

Fly fishing is an active style of fishing which requires skill and research into aquatic behaviour, understanding the natural environment, food sources. Changes in temperature, atmospheric pressure and the weather play a large part in the fishes behaviour which is part of the fun of working out how to catch.

There is a lifetime of learning involved I love being outside in nature and I’ve made some great lifelong friends.

I’m fundraising to help with the costs associated with fishing for England. Money raised goes towards clothing, travelling, accommodation and fishery costs.

I’d be so grateful if you’re able to donate, for every donation made you will be automatically entered to win a taster day fly fishing at a local reservoir near Newport.

The taster day will take part on a Saturday or Sunday with the date to be agreed.

I will spend the day teaching you how to cast and hopefully land a trout.

You won’t need any equipment other than suitable clothes, sturdy boots, sunglasses, a bit of patience and some resilience - there might be some tangles to start with.

I will provide a packed lunch and hot drinks.
