Jesse’s Cancer Treatment Fund

This is Jesse’s story:

My name is Jesse Musick and I was first diagnosed with cancer at the age of 22. I have been battling Ewing’s Sarcoma off and on since that age. I am currently 39 years old. I have had many surgeries to address removing cancer nodules, tumors and other various spots from my body affected by reoccurrence over the years. I have even had my right upper lobe of my lung completely removed due to an inoperable spot found that could not be isolated and taken out surgically. I have had many victories along this road and many defeats. I choose to focus on the victories and try my best to address the defeats with prayer, hope and love. My treatment has been an absolutely wild rollercoaster. As crazy as it is, it’s been a part of my life that I have chosen to use to lift my faith in God and use to help others when possible.

One of my most recent victories came October 5, 2020. I went to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center and received a pelvic and chest CT scan. The day afterwards, meeting with my oncologist I learned that some of the cancerous spots I had in my lungs had disappeared completely and others were getting smaller! My wife had accompanied me to the appointment where we were told this news. As we learned this, you could almost hear both of us let out a huge breath. I know a weight was lifted off both of our shoulders. This was something we needed to hear. I needed to hear that I was not getting sick over and over and over for no benefit at all. In our world, you cannot get a better report than this aside from all cancer being completely gone.

I started the first round of chemotherapy for my current cancer setback in January 2020. I just completed my 11th round of chemotherapy for this reoccurrence. My body is definitely wearing down from this. It seems like I bounce back a little more slowly after each round. I am extremely lucky to have oncologists, family & friends that God has placed purposefully in my life as part of His plan for me. God has a plan for you and I. I believe that through this plan, you’re placed in positions (some good & some bad) to be a witness. That is what I’ve tried my best to be throughout my time battling cancer. Through other’s prayer and help, I’ve been blessed to be able to continue this fight. Thank you all for everything you’ve done to help my family and I through these times. Prayers, financial assistance, fundraisers, thoughts, calls, texts, social media messages and kind acts do not ever go unappreciated.
