Hi, my name is Jessica and I wanted to begin this fundraiser to help support Jessenia and her family while they prepare to relocate and continue her fight with brain cancer.
Her Story
She was diagnosed with oligodendroglioma grade 2, years ago. She has fought it nobally once before with a difficult surgery and recovery. The next surgery brings a heaviness with the unknown as they will be needing to remove the cancerous part of her brain which could come with significant memory loss or be something she is unable to recover from.
You can imagine the toll that would take on Jessenia and the members of her family as they walk this challenging road ahead again.
The conversations I've had with her has given me a glimps of her strength. She is a warrior, filled with faith and expectation of God's faithfulness. She's seen Him work in miraculous ways in the challenging days after her first surgery. He brought people to their cheering section to pray for her healing and recovery and they saw God do a mighty work in her body. And so we ask for prayers for this family again in big and powerful ways as they enter into this 2nd surgery.
How We Can Help
Before this next surgery happens the family is heading to a new home...about 2 1/2 hours away. This means help is needed to support them in this transition since they are packing/unpacking and moving by themselves. I hope some of these funds help lighten the busyness and stress of moving.
Other ways they will be using funds these include:
- medical bills the insurance is not covering.
- Homeschooling supplies so they can set up a home classroom after they move.
- Possible nursing or childcare assistance when family can't be there to help on the other side of the surgery
With so much unknown it is hard to be specific about some needs and where funds will be going, yet financial help is appreciated by the Huaytalla family in whatever ways it is received.
Ways To Pray
When asking Jessenia what they need, her humble answer was "prayer..." she said prayer is the most helpful thing we could give her right now. So, here are some things you can also be covering in prayer:
- Miracles! Miraculous healing in her body...the kind that makes doctors scratch their heads trying to figure it out!
- For this upcoming surgery to go so perfectly that she never loses her memory or ability to be the wife and mother she desires to be.
- For peace and understanding over the kid's hearts...that fear wouldn't win but that they would feel God's withness and peace over their minds and bodies.
- For her husband to be super powered by God to help support Jessenia and their 2 children through this surgery and recovery.
- For the move to go smoothly and have helping hands on both sides of the move.
- For a community to quickly grow around them in their new home that will stand with them.
- For a new church and friends for the kids.
- For wisdom in all the decisions they are making for themselves and their kids
- For Jessenia's mother to be available when needed for recovery or longer if needed
- That all their needs would be met
- That Jessenia will be a walking, talking, breathing testimony of what our God can do.
