Jesse Veterinary Debt

We lost our beloved Jesse "Bear" yesterday. It has been an absolutely shocking, surreal, and devastating week for us as Jesse was his normal self just over a week ago. The short version of the story is that, while we are still awaiting test results, we believe Jesse had a sudden onset of the acquired neurological disease; focal myasthenia gravis, as well as megaesophagus. What this means is that Jesse's esophagus completely stopped functioning and became dilated (enlarged) - so he could not eat, drink, or even swallow his own saliva. Jesse's symptoms presented extremely quickly with vomiting + regurgitating, and he quickly became in critical condition from aspiration pneumonia. 

Doing anything + everything we could, we racked up $13k+ in medical bills trying to save our beloved 5-year-old family member in just 8 days. He had a large surgery, tons of x-rays, a feeding tube, countless medications, admittance to the pet ICU, and a lot more. We felt helpless and desperate as we visited him each day to find him suffering and declining more. We would have spent any amount of money to keep our baby Bear alive, but unfortunately, now we are grieving a large loss on top of being in a lot of debt + financial strain.
