Jesse McLaughlin sustained significant facial and jaw injuries in an accident on March 9th. After a short ICU stay at Queen of the Valley, he was airlifted to UC Davis in Sacramento to be cared for by their superb specialized team of RNs, surgeons and staff. He required a stay in the intensive care unit for nine days before a long and grueling surgery on March 18 to repair multiple jaw and facial fractures. Jesse will require rehabilitation therapy to gain a range of motion in his jaw to eat solid foods and talk comfortably. His future will also include extensive dental work. The family is insured but has a high deductible. And, like most of us, Stacey and Lance are not prepared to pay for this emergency, which includes high out-of-pocket costs and complicated major dental work not covered by their dental insurance. Compounding that is the time Stacey and Lance will need to take off work while Jesse recovers.

Jesse is a Junior at Napa High School and played on the water polo, wrestling, and swim teams, making numerous friends at his school and Vintage and Justin-Siena High Schools. Unfortunately, his surgeons told him he would not be able to play any of the sports he loves during his senior year of high school due to the risk of damaging his repaired jaw. Stacey and Lance were at his side for two weeks at UC Davis and are now at their home as Jesse begins his long recovery. He is a courageous, cheerful, and charismatic young man who needs his friends’ and community’s support. Please spread the word and share this campaign!
