Hi… My name is Susan and I am Jesse Martin's wife.
Jesse and I have three children Phyn (5), Phyre (1) and XyPhy (8mo) and since Jesse is the sole provider of our family of five I’m able to stay at home to raise our children.
Last weekend Jesse was pouring a gasoline and oil mixture onto a fire when the fire traveled up the gas and exploded the gas can in his face and hands. 17% of his body was burned in the accident. Mostly his face and right arm (hand to shoulder) but other parts of his body were burned as well. The doctors say that most of his burns are 2nd degree but there are some that are 3rd degree. A small spot on his nose, cheek, and most of his ears are 3rd degree as well as his right hand and part of his shoulder.
With Jesse being out of work, I am in need of your assistance to help me pay bills (food, rent, utilities, etc.) and some medical expenses we have due to a car accident that Jesse was in on his way to work just 4 days before the burn accident. The people who side-swiped Jesse’s car provided false insurance information to the police. Since we only had liability insurance, we were advised by authorities to take the other party to small claims court. Needless to say I have no time for that right now.
Please keep our family in your prayers. He will be in the hospital for quite some time. Also, please pray for our oldest son who is about to turn 5. He saw the whole thing and ran to me screaming “Daddy is on fire!” I want to thank everyone for all the love, support and prayers we have received so far. Especially Nastasi Hancock (Jesse's Manager at Southwest Airlines) and his wife. I don't know what I would have done without them the day of and after the accident.
Thank You All and Have a Blessed Day - Susan
