Jesse Lueck Rain Curtain Memorial @ Angels Island

As family and friends mourn the sudden loss of Jesse, Angels Island Memorial Park has made the decision to have our "Rain Curtain Sculpture" erected in Memory of Jesse. His plaque and picture will be on the sculpture, and children who have fallen victim to suicide prior to Jesse's death will have their name imprinted on a brick pathway leading to the memorial. As a society we want to bring this word, suicide, out in the open and help children who are coping with the only choice the believe they have. These children don't want to die, but there is an inner pain they are coping with and dying is the only way to end the pain. Many of us will never know that inner pain or understand it, but it is real, people. Jesse was an amazing young man, with a great family and numerous friends, he was a football player, he had dreams and future plans. While we don't understand everything that transpires in a child's mind, we want to do something in Jesse's honor to help turn that around and even possibly save a life. Around this "Rain Curtain Sculpture" will be plaques with phone numbers for emergency help, hotline numbers to offer immediate counseling. A serene place with seating where kids can gather and sort out their feelings, frustrations, and emotional troubles. A gathering place where no questions are asked, just a place to sit amidst angelic calmness and anticipation of a hopeful solution for children struggling . Jesse's family has given us permission to erect this memorial in his name. We grieve with them as they struggle to find comfort and a sense of peace, while Jesse is dancing in the Glory of God and sleeping in the arms of angels.
