Jesse James and I just lost our Dad, Jim Whitsett. He fell asleep for the last time on Feb 7th and never woke. Our hearts are broken. I am at a loss for words and just over all numb. It has been overwhelming with love and support since. I have seen so many comments on his Facebook page full of love. Please continue to post and share stories of your friendship with Jim, he is looking down and reading them all. Those memories will last forever so please keep sharing them. I love reading how he touched so many lives outside of my own.
I didn't meet Jim until I was 23 years old and we used to joke when he first had Jesse that the universe gave him his second chance to make up for the lost time he had with me. It gave me such joy watching how he looked after and took care of Jesse. He was such an incredible Dad to us and an amazing Papa to his grandkids. We are all going to miss him so much.
While I try to process everything with my emotions and feelings towards the loss of Jim I cant help but worry about Jesse and all the things he will need and want in the coming years. He has so much of his life ahead of him. Jesse was the one who first found Jim in eternal sleep and it just breaks my heart thinking about what was going through his head at the time.
Jesse is currently with my Grandma and doing the best he can for what he just experienced. While he will be in good care of immediate family I still want to go above and beyond for him, just like my Dad did.
If you can spare anything at all, it will go along way for Jesse and show just how many people care about him and our Dad. The funds will be used however Jesse needs: clothes, school supplies, savings for a car. His entire world has changed over night and we greatly appreciate any support.
