Jesse Forsland Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On Dec. 29, a beautiful life came to an end. Our dear friend, Jesse Forsland, passed away unexpectedly leaving this earth as he lived - everyone's friend. Jesse leaves behind Raquel, his wife and best friend, together for 24 years, Adrian (9) and Renee (5). Jesse was not only a devoted husband and father, he was a brother, a son, a teacher and a truly amazing friend loved by all.
Jesse changed the life-trajectory of thousands of Northern California children and their families as an educator and mentor.
Beyond the classroom, Jesse's value to the Concord community was made obvious through programs he dedicated himself to and sacrificed his time for, such as the Concord/Olympic High School Bike Program, where he mentored students to give back - refurbishing bicycles for children in need.
He loved to travel and explore the less known or unique places - such as off the road towns in the South of France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Nepal, Thailand, Mexico, Brazil, South Africa. The list seems endless.
But the “travel” he cherished most was closer to home. Like taking a 10 mile bike ride with his son Adrian. Or exploring one of his daughter Renee’s imaginary worlds right in their own backyard.
There was never a disparaging word said about Jesse. He had a keen eye for recognizing a glass perhaps half empty, but only focused on how full it was...or could be.
His high energy made us feel young, his humor brought us together. He never left a group of people from 2 to 200 without their feeling happier, more informed, or less concerned about a problem. His legacy will strengthen as time goes by.
While we cannot take away their sorrow, we can help ease the burden by supporting Raquel and their beautiful children. Please consider helping out Jesse’s loved ones through this very difficult time as they navigate this tragedy. Donations will go directly to his wife, Raquel Forsland, to help with end of life costs and future expenses.
Please keep Raquel and her family in your thoughts and prayers. Remember Jesse and smile; he will be dearly missed but he will live on forever in our hearts and in all the beautiful memories.
