Jesse Doonan

We are here to share a little about our nephew Jesse’s story. He was rushed to Sick Kids on December 27, 2024 after a sudden loss of vision an Optometrist near their home told them to get an MRI of his eyes right away.  Within hours at Sick Kids the team of doctors had found a tumour which is known as Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma (JNA).  Jesse’s tumour is quite large which makes these surgeries he will be facing more challenging and complex.  With unfortunately, no full idea of what recovery will look like for him after multiple surgeries and let’s not forget Jesse has three siblings at home navigating this just as much as everyone else.  Mom will be at the hospital with Jesse while dad goes back and forth for a couple days at a time.  Grandparents moving in as support while aunts and uncles take time off as an opportunity to spend time with him and help navigate other kids activities.

The family runs a local roofing and construction business in their hometown.  Jesse plays baseball, hockey and loves gaming.  He loves challenging his older sisters and is basically his younger brothers best friend.  Both Mom and Dad have coached hockey and baseball in the community. One sister is a figure skater and his other sister also plays hockey and baseball.  This is a busy family like everyone around us who is just going through a very tragic time and they need our help.  Please share this with everyone you know and any amount will help.

All funds raised will be helping with any shortfall in living expenses so dad can spend as much time supporting the family.  As mom will be at the hospital for the duration of his time which is unknown but at a minimum weeks.  Any funds not needed will be donated back to the Hospital for Sick Children. 

While we are using our social media to help fundraise, we ask that you please share his story with just adults. Jesse doesn't want kids recognizing him because of this around town or in school or to have his other siblings being questioned about what’s going on.
