Jesse Bowens and family

Hi, my name is Ashley Jones, and I have created this page in memory of my friend, Jesse Bowens, who passed away suddenly and tragically on Saturday, March 13th leaving behind his partner of 10 years, Samantha “Sam” and SEVEN beautiful children.

 

I met Jesse and Sam at Wal Mart in November of 2019. They are incredible people, but at the time, they were homeless, caught up
in the cycle of living in motels, and trying to get back on their feet. We helped them get into an apartment and get stable transportation.

 

In the years since, Jesse has worked as a sub contractor to support his family; however, due to covid, Jesse was not able to get much employment.  As a result he could not pay the rent and they became homeless again. 

 

Two weeks ago he called to tell me that they had been placed in a home thru a charitable organization. I could hear the pride and relief in his voice that his family not only had a home, but also had a home with a huge yard for his kids to play in. He shared his dreams of filling the yard with toys for them. I shared in his joy and am still so thankful they have a roof over their head and are out of the motel, in a safe place. This was truly a Godsend! 

 

Over the years, I have helped his family as I have been able, but most importantly, they have become my friends. I was devasted when Samantha called me to tell me the news this past Saturday. He wanted so badly to succeed and support his family.

 

Jesse's sudden death has been quite a shock for her and the children; she has lost her partner and the breadwinner for their family. They have no family in the area to help. My goal is to help Samantha get on her feet a little bit to try and begin their lives without Jesse. Thankfully, they have a car, and it just needs a new set of tires. I would also love to get her a used washer/dryer and some children's clothes.

 

I am so deeply appreciative of anything that you have to offer big or small. Truly they have nothing!  These children have been thru a lot and I want to try and bring some help to their family as they begin this difficult transition without their father. Many thanks for your consideration.
