On Monday Feb 22 the Blodgett’s welcomed their sweet baby boy Jesse into their family. On Feb 23 after his 24 hour testing the midwife discovered his vital signs were abnormal. He was transferred by ambulance to Corvallis then to Riverbend for a higher level of NICU care. It was discovered at Riverbend that he has a heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). He was transferred up to OHSU where he will undergo a series of open heart surgeries. This is going to be a long road for the family. The Blodgett’s have 5 other children at home and will be commuting at times back and forth to Portland.
