My name is Becky Herrin and I am trying to help my son, Jesse Herrin and his wife Ellita, raise funds to help with medical, travel and living expenses while Jesse goes through surgery on his spine this month and recovery. Recovery time is expected to be six months and during this time Jesse will not be able to work and they will also be making several trips to and from Atlanta and Tucker Georgia.
We greatly appreciate anything at this time to try to relieve some of the financial burden this will create for them.
I copied the information below from Ellita’s Facebook page. She will update periodically as they have more information.
Please consider sharing this to help them during this time. Thank you so much!

I’ve been getting a lot of messages asking about Jesse. I’m going to try my best to fill everyone in here on Facebook to make it easier on us. I will also be posting updates periodically as we go through this in the following days/months.
For years Jesse has had chronic back pain. He has several issues going on with his spine. One being scoliosis. Earlier this year the injections he was getting were not giving him the relief they should so he was referred to a neurosurgeon in Brunswick. There, we found out he would be a candidate for surgery but that surgeon referred him to Emory in Atlanta. We made the appointment for a consultation and today was that appointment.
It went very well. He is in fact going to have surgery but not for scoliosis (which we initially were told would probably be the recommended surgery).
First let me say Emory, so far has been absolutely amazing! Everyone from the security guard at the door, the receptionist, nurses, chief resident and finally the Doctor.
We couldn’t ask for a more compassionate team. We felt heard and seen.
The doctor recommended that for now, we take scoliosis surgery off the table. It is VERY extensive. He may need it in the future but they only like to do that as a last resort.
The doctor recommended that they go in between L5 and S1, shave a little off, put screws and rods in and relieve the nerve that is crushed there. This should help a great deal with his pain. We will be making several trips up here for pre-op, surgery and post-op appointments. Recovery time is expected to be six months.
As expected, Jesse is nervous and we all are, honestly. But if you know Jesse, he has dealt with this pain too long and it is time he gets relief.
Thank you to everyone for reaching out and checking on him. He appreciates everyone and everything and so do I.
If anyone has any questions I will answer best I can. My primary goal at this time is to help him through this as well as he helped me through my surgeries.
At this time, surgery is scheduled for October 23rd.
