Hello! My name is Stephen, and I would like to introduce you to my little cousin, Jessa. Jessa is an effervescent and friendly high school student, but she also has a competitive and feisty side. This competitive nature has helped her in the world of athletics. Over the years, Jessa has excelled in the pool and water polo has become her passion.

Jessa's dedication to water polo has recently landed her on Team Canada's 2026 U16 women's national water polo team, and I am super proud of her! Water polo has brought Jessa to different cities and countries, and with the U16 national team, she will be competing at the World Championships in Croatia this summer. Being able to compete in an international competition is a rare opportunity, but it is also expensive(!), therefore I am reaching out to the power of the internet to help raise money for Jessa to help offset the cost of flights, training, accommodations, food, travel, and competing in Croatia. "Hello everyone, my name is Jessa Bumpas. I am extremely proud to say I have been selected to compete at the 2026 U16 Women's water polo World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia.

Throughout my journey with water polo, I have always tried to get better, improve how I play, and my mentality when playing. This year would be my first time representing Team Canada at any event, and to have it be the World Championships would make it all the more exciting and special. Last year, for the 2025 15U Pan American Games (Pan-Ams), I was sadly not selected to go. Seeing how much more experienced the players got, and how fun the trip seemed, I knew that I wanted that to be me representing my country at an event as important as that one.

With this incredible opportunity, there is also a substantial cost. This trip includes a week of training in Istanbul, Turkey, where there is also a tournament to help us improve as a team. After our training in Turkey, we head to Zagreb, Croatia, to participate in the World Championships. Altogether, this trip costs $12,000. The cost of it pays for travel, accommodation, team expenses, and other tournament expenses. This event is fully self-funded, and I would like to help my parents because they have given up some things they would like to do, for me to do this one big thing that I would like to do. Therefore, I am reaching out to my community and others reading this message in hopes of raising even just a little bit of money to help with the costs and to make this experience possible.
