Help Us Give Jess the Chance She Deserves

Jess, our beautiful Border Collie, has been part of our family since she was a tiny puppy. Born with a congenital liver shunt, she has always faced health challenges, but her boundless energy, gentle nature, and clever mind have made her truly special. She can remember over 30 toy names, thoroughly enjoys agility, and charms everyone she meets — with her striking two different-coloured eyes, a white-tipped ear, and an endless supply of love for everyone she meets.

Recently, Jess underwent a routine operation as part of her liver shunt treatment. Sadly, complications arose, and her lung was punctured in two places. Emergency surgery was required to remove part of her lung, and she had to remain in hospital much longer than we ever imagined.

Our vet bills have risen from an anticipated £9,000 to predictions of £17,000 — a huge and unexpected financial burden. Every penny spent has been to give Jess the best chance at recovery, because she isn’t just a pet; she’s family. She’s an irreplaceable companion to all of us, and she was only just beginning her wonderful bond with our young son when this began.

Jess’s good nature, resilience, and loving heart inspire us every day. We want to see her at home chasing her favourite toys, bounding through the garden, and greeting every friend — old and new — with her trademark howl hello.
