As I sit here in the waiting room, one of my very best friends is going through life changing surgery. A radical hysterectomy due to cervical cancer.
Our friend Jessica Johnson is a brave, beautiful, funny, creative, inspiring person and a wonderful friend to anyone that is lucky enough to know her. She fell on some horrible news a couple of months ago. She was told she had big bad “C” word, something we all wish we never hear. I was there the day she was told she had cervical cancer and it broke my heart. It’s been a rough road for her although she’s remained strong and brave. Today’s surgery will save her life, but it will also change it.
From the time she was told, and for years to come, she will be going to doctors regularly, having PET scans, MRI’s, blood tests, paps, etc... This is a lot and it is not all covered by her insurance (the surgery alone is crazy expensive). She will end up paying quite a bit out of pocket. Not to mention she will not be able to work for quite some time and her bills will still need to be paid. Her recovery time can be very long (months and months) but we won’t know how long till she is out of surgery. It all depends on whether the cancer has affected her lymph nodes and how many. This is a very intense surgery.
So I am asking, because she never would ask, to please help her by donating money to this GoFundme and sharing it on your social media pages. It will help her tremendously with her medical and “life” bills and I know that she will be eternally grateful to all of you. Any little bit will be appreciated and put towards her bills. This our girl, our friend, our family, so reach in your pocket and do what you can to help her if you are able too.
Thank you with all my heart in advance!!
I will post on her FB page when she is out of surgery and how it went. , Alisha
