Jess’ Chemotherapy Lego

Life Update: I was diagnosed with cancer back in June. Don’t get me wrong, chemotherapy sucks but I’ve also never felt so loved a supported than I have in the last few months.
For those who are interested, it’s Stage 3 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma which is a cancer of the lymphatic system. With modern medicine it is so treatable and most people even with later stages are cured for life after chemotherapy. It’s going to be a 6 month fight and in 5 years time, something to look back on as a fight which only made me stronger.
Although the timing is a bit shitty having just started to plan to get married next year and having a mortgage means that taking 6 months off work isn’t in the cards, it has made me way more grateful for the things I do have. You take for granted waking up and feeling fine and it’s been a welcome shift in perspective.
Last night my brothers and my fiancé shaved their heads with me and had a great time doing it. We laughed, we cried and a core memory was created. I love my family and this picture will hang with pride in my house for the rest of my life❤️
For anyone out there who wants to help, right now the only thing that would make me happy is some Lego. I have 8 more sessions of chemotherapy planned and I’ve already spent £200+ on lego sets in 2 months and at 25 years old, I can’t keep spending £60 on lego every other week! For context I take a new lego set to chemo because I’m there for 7 hours. It keeps my mind and my hands busy and by the end, I’ll have a collection to show of my battles.
