Jess’ big hike x

Join me on 30th August to hike 10 miles for brain tumour research! I am asking for any contribution towards the charity to come.

There is a place to paddle if the weather is nice, so maybe be prepared for that! There are some rocky parts so good shoes are a must!!! bring lunch and plenty of water!!!! Sun cream too if it’s hot.

The location is about 40 minutes from Derby.

I wanted to do the fundraiser sooner, but the effects of radiotherapy and going back to work full time really knocked me for six.

I needed to wait until things were more ‘normal’ before I started planning anything. So now, dare I say it, things are becoming more normal, I really want to organise a charity hike.

The route I’ve chosen is so gorgeous. I did it a couple of weekends ago, for the second time, and knew it was the hike I wanted to do cos I was walking around saying ‘they will all love this’

I don’t want people to have the pressure of raising money, so I just ask for any donation to come along.

Once you have donated please dm me on instagram with your mobile number and I’ll make a group chat with all of the details!

The charity have also said they’re going to provide T-shirts and hats which is an added bonus ha!!!

  • One in three people knows someone affected by a brain tumour
  • Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer
  • Just 1% of the national cancer spend on cancer research has been allocated to brain tumours since records began in 2002
  • The vision of Brain Tumour Research is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours
  • Their mission is to increase the UK investment in research to £35 million a year

Since being diagnosed with epilepsy and a brain tumour in April 2024, I always knew I wanted to do some form of fundraiser for Brain Tumour Research.

From the stats, you can see how scarily underfunded this charity is. And from someone who is going to be living with a brain tumour for the rest of my life, it does scare me that the future of my health lies on the hands of an overlooked charity.

Big love to everyone x super excited to do it with all my fave people xxx
