Hi there! My name is Jesi Franklin and I am a 2020 graduate of Ocracoke High School.
I live and breathe my art, it's my life blood and I fully intend to make my art my career. I am a Freshmen Illustration student who has been accepted to Ringling College of Art and Design. Ringling College of Art and Design is ranked number #2 for illustration Nation wide and ranked #9 worldwide. By attending Ringling College of Art and Design I will greatly improve my art and learn the business side of Art and Design so that I can become a self sustainable artist.
Long story short, its one of the best programs an art student could wish for.
However, affording my dream school is an issue. My home town was devastated by hurricane Dorian and has limited many sources of income for me and my family. I am the daughter of a widowed disabled vet who cannot help me fund my education. However, FAFSA gave me no aid because they counted her disability pay as a way to pay for my education. I am campaigning for education so I can achieve my dream of going to my dream school.
Donations will only be spent on tuition and school supplies by going into a savings account. Right now the goal is 5,000 as an starting point.
Every dollar and penny helps a young artist pursuing her dream.
