Jes Needs Your Help for Tony's Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Jes. But Tony knows me as Mommy, and this GoFundMe is for him.
Tony is a 10-year-old chug (chihuahua pug mix) with a larger-than-life attitude and apparently a very big medical emergency.
What started as regular dog sickness quickly turned dire when it didn’t stop, and I took him into the emergency vet in Delaware, OH yesterday (Sunday 6/29). Upon his first examination, the vet found a mass in a focal ultrasound that was, as he said, concerning. We came up with a treatment plan to come back the next day for a full abdominal ultrasound, and did that today (Monday, 6/30).
The veterinarian came in the room today and my entire world fell apart. Tony has necrotizing pancreatitis, which basically means what it sounds like—his pancreatitis is so severe, parts of his pancreas have died and will continue to die if left untreated. Untreated, this can lead to multiple organ failure, and be an extremely painful ordeal. However, with hospitalization and proper meds, he has the chance to fight. And I don’t know if you, dear reader, have met my little guy, but he is a fighter. He’s already told me he is NOT excited about getting an NG tube for feedings.
The medication for pancreatitis is only administered while in inpatient care, over the course of three days. Just admitting him cost my family and I $2,900 (with another $700 yesterday), and continued hospitalization will keep racking up treatment costs for him.
I know, with every fiber of my being, that he wants to fight. I know he will make it through this. But I need his village. Even if you can’t donate, please share this donation link with literally anyone you know. I can’t rest until my sweet boy is home.
**HE IS HOME 7/2**
My sweet boy is home. He’s resting, he’s snoring loudly, and he is very happy to see all of his best friends.
Thank you to everyone who’s donated so far! Even $1 does so much more than you could ever know.
