Jes Jones

How many countless times have you heard the phrase " So-and-So was the most kind, giving person you will ever meet. They would give you the shirt off their back". Jes Jones was that and so much more. Jes loved everyone she met. She would engage anyone and everyone in conversation and instantly- you felt seen, heard and known by her. A sincere love of all people, Jes knew at a young age that she was called to minister to people. Jes loved Jesus with her whole being. It was this love for Jesus that equipped her to love His people. She pastored so many from her teens years until her last breath on this side of eternity. She loved and served in ministry along side her husband, Matt Jones. She loved and adored her kids Caleb, Josh, Evelette and Benaiah. Through adversity, Jes always held on to the hope and trust that is only found in personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She buried a child, Eli. She authored a book that has ministered to countless women of the heartache and strife of losing a child. But her greatest battle was that of cancer. From her first diagnosis 5 years ago, where Drs. said she would not live and to prepare her family, Jes believed that her assignment on this earth was not over and trusted the Lord for a miracle- and He heard her. God gave her more time to love and support her husband Matt and the ministry God had called them to. He gave her more years to love and raise her kids. He gave her more years to build His Church, and build relationship with so many people. He gave her more years to live and love and she did just that with every ounce of her being. She counted every day as a gift from God because he gave that gift to her and she cherished it and everyone around her. This past month, Jes became ill once more. Cancer returned and flu and pneumonia complicated the plan that would be her next road to recovery. Even in the hospital, Jes was only thinking of others, telling us how much she loved us, telling her kids how proud she was of them, loving everyone around her and preparing them for what would come next. We prayed unceasingly for a miracle, for more time, for another miracle that only God can do and has done. On February 13, Jes went home to be with her Heavenly Father. The one who called her. The one who has walked with her all her life and loved her like no other. She is now in heaven, holding Eli, in the presence of her King. And for that we rejoice.
However, words cannot describe the void we all feel from losing this bright light in our lives. Her husband, Matt and her kids are missing their wife and mother. That is a sorrow that cannot be denied. We are asking that whatever you can give to help ease the burden financially and emotionally, would you pray and consider giving a gift? This gift would allow them to plan for funeral costs that are well beyond what they were prepared for. This gift would allow Matt to take the kids to Redding, California for a few weeks to get away, be with their oldest son Caleb ( who is in school at Bethel School of Ministry) and around some endearing friends that have walked through the difficulties they have faced in the past with prayer and encouragement. This gift will ultimately be a balm of healing. Thank you from our family to yours. Our hope and trust is and will always be in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
