After doing 10 1/2 years in more than a half-dozen federal prisons, Jery is coming home and we need to help him find his footing!

Jery has no support outside of people he has met from Black and Pink MA. It is essential that we give him money to land on. Jery has never held a mainstream economy job and has spent most of his adult life in and out of incarceration. While we're hopeful he'll be able to sell his amazing artwork while in the halfway house, we just don't know if he will have any income for some time.

Jery has been keeping notes for the past 10 1/2 years on things he wants to learn when he gets out. How to use a computer, how to send emails, and how to watch videos with captions (he's HoH) are of special interest to Jery, so we want to make sure he can afford a simple computer and smartphone with big display that he can read subtitles on. He'll also need the million small things that will help to make his HWH more like a home: soft sheets, a toothbrush, and the clothes and toiletries HE wants, not the cheapest ones a prison can provide.

Jery's scared. Unlike the beatings, months on mental health watch, and years in the SHU, this is something we on the outside can help with. While Jery has many skills, at 60 he has never had a mainstream economy job, and our hopes for someone hiring an ex-con with no work history and borderline deafness is not great.

This is going to be a huge transition for Jery. So many people have been there for him for the past 9-10 since Jery and I connected. Please help us make his transition to the (half) free world easier and to set Jery up for success.
