March 27, 2018 changed our lives forever. Miss Jersey Mae was born a beautiful 6.56 pound baby girl. Little did we know our lives were turned upside down. Our daughter was born with Treacher Collins Syndrome. This is the same syndrome as Auggie from the movie Wonder! We spent the next 3 months living in and out of the Vanderbilt NICU while still raising our other 3 kids. It was 2 surgeries, 2 birthdays, 3 months until we broke free. Jersey was placed with a tracheostomy and a feeding tube so she can live a life as normal as she can. We still have therapy twice a week and multiple appointments at Vanderbilt. Jersey has a surgery scheduled on April 5th to repair her cleft palate so we can hopefully get rid of her feeding tube! With many surgeries to be determined. Whatever we raise will go to her outstanding medical bills and any future hospital stays, bills, therapies for Jersey. We love our Jersey very much and wouldn't trade her for the world as many of ya'll see she is a VERY SPECIAL young lady. God bless!
