Jerry's Friends Support Dementia
Donation protected
Jerry has spent his life as a dedicated, loving husband, father, and friend, always putting others before himself. His second love, only after his family was his career and brotherhood with the Worcester fire department. Jerry loved his position as a worcester firefighter. His relationships with his fellow brothers meant so much to him. He would often share stories and memories proudly when he recounted his 32 years on the job. It always brought a big grin to his face when he would start talking about shifts at Eastern Ave, Engine 7, and Central Division.
Even more fond memories come from many years working for Standard Parking as a shuttle driver for EMC corporation. Jerry loved meeting new people and cherishe...d the friends and acquaintances he made while driving the shuttle. When Jerry wasn't working he was always with friends and family, but mostly with his children. From coaching Jack Barry softball, carpools to Assumption School, helping with homework and everything else, Jerry never stopped. However, these days dementia has completely taken over his thinking and interfered with his daily functioning and social skills. It has been heartbreaking to watch our friend struggle so greatly and have no control over it at all. From a man who wore so many hats and never missed a beat to a man who now needs 24 hour care. As friends of Jerry, we see him battle unthinkable challenges everyday. We offer love, prayers, and support any way we can, unfortunately now he needs more than ever.
Donations to this campaign go to support Jerry Vuona as he struggles to battle dementia. All proceeds go to offset medical bills, ongoing treatment, necessary household adjustments and associated expenses.
