On Christmas morning 2016 our dad, Jerry Mounce, suffered a life-altering stroke. He was flown by helicopter from Fayetteville, AR to St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa, OK where he received emergency surgery on his brain that saved his life. To all who know and have known our dad, he is the most loving, loyal, kind, generous, strong, and hardworking man you could ever know. In the last five years of their life our parents have adjusted to the financial burden of dad losing the job (and crucial benefits) he held for nearly 20 years. Never complaining or feeling sorry for their struggle, they adapted and continued to find work even as they approach retirement age.
Mom and dad both work, and Dad now drives for Pinnacle Car Service in Northwest Arkansas where he continues to do the only thing he knows how to do – work hard and faithfully, meeting and making new friends that mean more to him than anything!
The massive medical expenses compounded by his inability to work and produce income for an extended period of time as he rehabilitates will now put catastrophic financial strain on their life.
We, his kids, Jerrod, Bryan, and Sherry Beth, are coming to you asking for your support to help the greatest parents in the world weather this storm and get back on their feet. It is possible that dad may not work for months, and the medical bills they will be faced with from ER treatment, a life flight, major surgery, multiple days in ICU and at the hospital, and lengthy rehab will create for them an uphill battle that no one should face alone.
It is our hope that the many, many wonderful people who have been a part of Jerry and Kitti Mounce’s life will now help them survive this challenge. Lifelong friends, those who have worked alongside them, family friends of theirs and ours, people who may have had the privilege of only meeting dad or mom once or twice - if they have touched your life, please take this opportunity to show them what they have meant to you. They cannot do this alone.
